The screens are then clamped into the press heads. The printer then registers the screens to a print from one of the screens or a film. Registering procedures differ from press to press and can consist of everything from tapping with hammers to screw adjusters or micro-accurate servo mechanisms. There are a variety of factors that effect the registration but the achievable tolerances are dependent on the how well the press is maintained.
