Old Vs. Modern Presses

Since this is an industry in its relative infancy, presses over 10 years old will often not be as fault tolerant as some of the more sophisticated modern presses. Any printer worth their salt must employ a regular maintenance schedule. In cases of extreme maintenance diligence, even the older workhorses can yield decent results. Some of the modern, whizzy advances made to textile screen presses are: computer controlled servo registration, pin pre-registration systems, stepper peel controls, as well as local and global off contact controls. Even with all of these innovations many significant control points have yet to be addressed, especially the issue of squeegee pressure. Those of us in the industry are confident that we will one day have total control over the process, and that a week later all of our equipment will be obsolete.
